Privacy policy

Check East Point (www.checkeastpoint.com, the "Service") respects your privacy and complies with the Personal Information Protection Act of Korea and other applicable laws. The Service has no user accounts and never asks you to enter personal details such as your name or phone number.

1. Information collected automatically

When you use the Service, the following may be generated and collected automatically: · Access logs: IP address, time of access, pages visited, browser and device type, referrer (including UTM values on shared links) · Usage statistics and advertising data collected through cookies and similar technologies (see section 3)

2. How we use it

We use this information only to provide and operate the Service, fix errors, improve it through usage statistics, and show advertising. We do not use it to identify you personally and we never sell it.

3. Cookies, analytics and advertising

· Google Analytics: we use Google Analytics cookies for visit statistics. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). · Kakao AdFit: Kakao's ad script and cookies may be used to show ads. · Third-party advertising, including Google: third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on those visits. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com), and out of other vendors' personalized ads at www.aboutads.info. · You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the main features of the Service still work.

4. Location

The "Nearby" feature asks your browser for location permission. Your location is used only on your device to find nearby places; it is never sent to or stored on our servers. You can turn the permission off in your browser at any time.

5. Browser storage

Settings such as theme, language, list width and quiz results are kept in your browser's storage (localStorage and sessionStorage). They never leave your device and are removed when you clear your browser data.

6. Service providers

We use the following providers to run the Service, and access information may reach them in the process: · Vercel Inc.: website hosting and access logs · Google LLC: usage statistics (Google Analytics) and advertising · Kakao Corp.: advertising (Kakao AdFit) and KakaoTalk sharing · OpenFreeMap: map tiles · External sites such as Jeju Province: only links you open yourself (e.g. live video) We do not provide personal information to third parties except where required by law.

7. Retention

Access logs and usage statistics are kept under each provider's retention policy and then deleted (Google Analytics data retention: 14 months). Contact emails are deleted within one year after your enquiry has been answered.

8. Your rights

You may ask to access, correct, delete or stop the processing of your personal information. Send your request to the address below and we will handle it without delay. In Korea you can also contact the Personal Information Infringement Report Center (privacy.kisa.or.kr, 118).
